Who in their right minds, would get into a vessel which has its only entrance / exit / escape hatch, bolted down from the outside??? Even in the unlikely event of them locating it, there's no way of getting the people out. It has to be raised to the surface first. Poor bastards, can't imagine a worse way of going. Slowly suffocating in a very cold, dark, steel coffin at the bottom of the sea.

The tube shaped carbon fiber hull was never properly tested. There is a reason all other craft that dive this deep use titanium alloy spheres a spheres being the best shape to resist water pressure. They probably all died very quickly when this thing leaked

I think most of the world is stunned that successful, and presumably intelligent, people would get into this thing when experts in the field had all voiced concerns about the hull design. I heard one engineer explain that this kind of hull would shatter, like glass, if it failed. If the hull failed they may never find a trace of this thing - it's a big, big ocean.

Let's go with the facts. The CEO "stated" he took risks building this submersible. No outside sources that are qualified to inspect his vehicle was done for safety. Basically he wanted a quick return on his investment.....

No, because he didn't want WHY+ ex-MILITARY MEN telling him what to do; he literally said that in a Zoom meeting when trying to recruit new engineers.

A hatch that can't be opened from the inside and limited oxygen is a deathtrap to begin with. Add in the staggering water pressure and you might as well be sitting in a vault.

They wouldn't build a test hull for destructive testing, too see what exactly it's fail points were. If you can't do something correctly because of $$, Then you need more $$. Safety costs. More complicated hatches cost. Experienced personel costs, locating transponder costs, redundant systems cost. See where I'm going?

His comment : "10 submersibles in the world can dive to 4000 meters or deeper and Titan is one of them and all of them are certified except one : the Titan is not." An astounding statement.
