I just finished the book today. I cried at the end. I didn't want the book to end. He didn't disappoint me. I hoped he wouldn't. He is great! Just like I thought he would be. He is funny. I knew that about him. When I was reading I could hear his voice in my head. I'm just so glad that someone I have loved since I was a teenager is such a great person. I feel so lucky to have been a teenager in the seventies.

I just started reading this book yesterday (12/5/2022), and by page number two I was astonished. Carol, my earliest childhood friend was 'JD', the very one that Peter Frampton sent to Caracas, Venezuela, to search for his lost, beloved, Les Paul guitar. My late older brother was also a singer/songwriter/guitarist, and 'JD' was working for him and his band before he was hired to work for Peter Frampton. I first met 'JD' when I was five years old, and he showed up at my house when I moved into the neighborhood. 'JD' and I (and my brother) had a close friend who also worked as a 'roadie'. His name was Joey, and he worked for David Bowie and Peter Frampton in 1987 during The 'Glass Spider' tour. He once retrieved a lost, stolen, Les Paul guitar for my brother. 39 years after he worked for Peter Frampton, 'JD' showed up at my brother's deathbed the day before he died. Carol, would you like to hear a song that will make you cry? My late brother wrote this song while he was on tour with Jimi Hendrix-and he's playing the guitar on it (an acoustic): From Buddy Miles' "Them Changes" album: "I Still Love You, Anyway". You can this on youtube. Enjoy.

Even my Father who would have turned 87 in April earlier this year had Frampton comes alive when it came out and it would be on constantly in the car when I was 15 years old and I absolutely love that album and when I play or hear that album I think of my Dad who was also my best friend, and we played Show me the way at his funeral when cancer took him from us in 2013.

Just finishing Peter Frampton's excellent book--one of my favorite Christmas gifts! Lots of interesting stories, cool pix and 'behind the scenes' of one of my favorite guitarists & performers. Highly recommended! Blessed to see Peter Frampton perform live on his 'Farewell' tour when it came through St. Louis last year. Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Tribute opened the show. Both artists were outstanding. Attending the concert with my son ... priceless!

I never gave up on Peter or stopped liking him because he was not "popular" as he used to be. He is a great guitar player with a distinctive sound and seems like a really decent man. I found that quite emotional actually. I had just watched Bowie and Frampton on their walk through Seville for MTV, i wasnt aware they were lifelong friends before this vid but they seemed to get on well, i see why now, two great musos, and two fine examples of English Artistic Gentlemen. Bowie deserved a Knighthood imo, a great ambassador and a great intellect to boot.

The first time I heard Frampton was live at Winterland in SF in '74. REO opened and in the head between sets someone mentioned how good he was and how he was going to blow the Doobies off of the stage. I thought "yeah right"-but what did I know? So my first taste of the Frampton magic was in front of some cranked up Marshalls and his Les Paul Black Beauty baking my ears! Oh my God, pure heaven! I will treasure that experience forever! And for the record he did blow me away, I will diplomatically say it was a tie between Frampton's Camel and the Doobies. What a show--he always loved Winterland and of course much of Comes Alive was recorded there. What a legend, fine guitarist and yes, a very nice, humble guy! All Hail Peter!
