Uber is trying to move past recent scandals and the resignation of CEO Travis Kalanick by changing its corporate culture. Those scandals include sexual assault allegations and safety issues. The ride-hailing giant hired Bozoma Saint John as its Chief Brand Officer last month to turn around the $68 billion company's image. Gayle King reports.

Her achievements can encourage and young Caribbean people of colour to excel in fields other than sport and entertainment. Her face should be among those plastered on the walls of secondary schools all over our region.

Transportation is typically not easy for a woman - at least in the eyes of others. Increasing revenue by 300% in 90 days, and another 200% on top of that in 6 months - was not easy for me. Yet I proved a woman can make a difference in transport. A woman of colour especially. I wish her the best of success. She is where she belongs. Women like us know we can do it!

Being a woman driving for Uber is hard at times. But worth the struggle. To me it's an "addiction". Once I get that first drive of the day, I crave for more. lol I love driving. But the most I worry about right now is the pay, rating and the rude passengers. I have high hopes in uber now. Things are changing a little at a time. I see it.

Who cares if she is - if it means more black women get in the door then great! Let the top Fortune 500 companies have 70/80% women from all different ethnicities, and then we can stop referring to people who work hard and look different as a token. If you don't do something because you think you are being used as a token - my reply is SO WHAT? Pay your bills and move on.
