Breaking down Supreme Court's decision siding with Biden administration on social media case

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled there was no legal standing in Murthy v. Missouri, the case calling to limit the Biden administration's efforts to prevent social media companies from allowing content it said was misinformation to spread on their platforms. CBS News legal contributor Jessica Levinson breaks down the ruling.

@@CurlyFromTheSwirlywhat comes to mind for me is the total ridiculousness from OUR own govt of oh, silly avg Joe citizens…. YOU don’t NEED N95 masks (including immune compromised ppl such as myself and my sister) but healthcare workers it is imperative that YOU wear N95’s as if COVID knows the distinction? ie. Oh, wait, I’m not gonna infect this unprotected silly goose with the ineffective mask on bc THEY are not a health worker…. It does not discriminate or differentiate who it infects. Now, if I went on a spouted out how bs that is…. Is our govt now going to be contacting whichever platform I posted about that being bs and force them to remove it as an “untruth?” And I am not arguing that it is or was not more imperative for healthcare workers to have the N95’s but my point is they OUTRIGHT LIED to us and gave ppl like me (and any vulnerable person, like over 65, organ transplant recipients, etc.) that makes US more vulnerable if we believe them!!! I, practicing my 1st amendment right, should be permitted to put the idea that not needing an N95 mask is bs! You, as a thinking person should research what you feel you need debunked not have the govt monitor and remove anything that THEY believe is “fake news.” Am I understanding this wrong??? I sure hope so…. Please, someone, indulge me…. And the fact that the decision came the day or so before other BIG news like the debate everyone is focused on where the media has that as their focus…. It scares th out of me bc it’s like there is not much fallout discussion about this decision other than oh, it didn’t meet the standard so it’s just not important as if “business as usual….” NO, it’s not, right? Bc this permits our govt to force removal of anything they disagree with if nothing else it surely opens that door…. Right?

Our Supreme Court just said FB, X, YT, you are failing at censorship so now we will permit our govt to step in and “do a better job….” Why is this not frightening to many?!? I guess I will be viewed as Chicken Little until the bomb drops and we are individually affected or personally know someone affected or redacted govt papers get released decades from now…. Right, and as a person with a brain we should research and hear all sides and all things and form our OWN opinions not have a supposed democracy (our govt) censor what we see and are “exposed” to and what is “truth.” Now THEIR truth is OUR truth…. Wasn’t that supposed to be what made the USA different…. Better than other countries… freedom of speech, freedom of thought? Some may say it’s a “slippery slope” argument but I believe that once this starts…. It is not only going to be censored politics and Covid beliefs but it is going to go much much further into topics and subjects and that is going to be a HUGE game changer for our democracy.
