It seems she has plenty of supporters who actually feel like he was wrong for recording her. She is a white woman. Mr Cooper you are a black man. In the eyes of society you will always be the threat. No need to feel sorry for Amy. What she did was reckless & could've cost you ur life. I seriously doubt this would've caused her to lose any sleep. The mere thought that she made the call speaks volumes as to how she values your life. Wake up. Everyone who has or becomes a victim of this type of behavior doesn't always get an opportunity to have a voice after the fact. U do. Don't waste it. Cooperate w the DA. If she needs to be the example, so be it. Maybe the next white woman who thinks it's cute to call the cops & lie will think twice. The famous story where the word karen came from .... the beginning of the karen. Karen is a term used as slang typically for a middle-class white woman who is perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal.[1] The term is often portrayed in memes depicting middle-class white women who "use their white and class privilege to demand their own way".[1][2] Depictions include demanding to "speak to the manager", being racist, or wearing a particular bob cut hairstyle.[3] It was popularized in the aftermath of the Central Park birdwatching incident in 2020.[2] The term has been considered pejorative by those who believe it is racist, sexist, ageist, classist, and controlling women's behavior.[3] The term has occasionally been applied to male behavior.[3][4] During 2020, the term increasingly appeared in media and social media, including during the COVID-19 pandemic and George Floyd protests.[1] The Guardian called 2020 "the year of Karen".[5]

Crimes by poor people in cities is easier to prosecute than crimes by rich people. Income inequality and family structure, as it relates to race, is another debate. If your goal is a more homogenous prison population, then focus on inner city poverty, family structure and getting rid of stupid, non-violent laws.

To viewers of the Amy Cooper video - Please see the transcript that Mr. Cooper stated himself. Rarely has anyone been showing what happens before he starts filming. I feel that what she did was beyond awful because she brought up race. She certainly appears acist and obviously knows our society is, too! But, Mr. Cooper wasn't an innocent puppy loving/bird watching guy taken by surprise about this whole incident. I feel both she and he have had issues and past situations that lead to this culmination. She, feels privileged, yes! However, I think even if he was not black, nor a man, her attitude "at first" would have been the same. She didn't like being told where to go and thought her excuse should have been enough to satisfy anyone who objected. He, also, I suspect, has had run-ins with other people who just won't pay him the respect he deserves for stating that the other person is breaking rules and that he really wants those rules to be followed. I'm sure having a dog run around would put a damper, if not totally ruin a day of bird watching/photographing. I think he is an excellent judge of character and sensed what type of person she was. I think she "flipped out" just before the camera started rolling and the racist words flowed out so fast and so repeatedly that she definitely was trying to get that message across, not only to the person on the other end of the call, as well as to Mr. Cooper, possibly to scare him (away.) I think Mr. Cooper was sharp enough to anticipate this! I don't think he was shocked, at all. He definitely caught a "Karen" in the middle of the act. She realized, her own actions, got her into an awful predicament and suddenly did actually feel "fear." She surely wasn't stable. I think her treatment of her newly rescued dog, shows, she was "losing it." If I were in her position, just the two of us there, and I had just been dismissive and rude to him, especially when he was "correct," and persistent, while I was "wrong" and stubborn- - and then- that Man's (or Woman's or kid's for that matter) next statement to me was - WELL THEN, IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO WHAT YOU WANT, I'M GOING TO DO WANT AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE IT, I would definitely take notice and any braveness I had, or was pretending to have, would be gone. After asking what is "that" and he then called to my dog, saying, COME HERE PUPPY, while holding out dog treats, I would have leashed my dog and "hit the road!" - I actually would have been gone the first instant anyone let me know I was breaking the rules- It is an odd thing for Mr. Cooper to do and say, in the least and is actually threatening at the the other extreme. Lots of things would go through my mind including the frightful possibility he was going to take or hurt my dog. We are all lucky the police didn't get there in time because our country could have had another tragedy. There is enough truth out there to see our country needs to change dramatically; I don't think "tweaking" a situation where you can see someone is mentally breaking down, is going to do anything positive for the cause and our world. In fact, it could have the opposite effect. The truth stands on it's own. Things are bad!!!! We have to get on the same side! I've seen this story so many times and at least the conversation prior to recording was mentioned a bit. I rarely get involved and write about things but this has been on my mind over and over- the why's, the what if's, etc. - not only for this particular case but for what it could mean for future confrontations. We have to go forward, with total clarity. From just the video portion, I was so discusted with Mrs. Cooper and thought she was 'evil'- A few days later I saw Mr. Cooper's statement and saw how gray this really is. It is Not so Black and White. I'd love to know if you or anyone else had even the slightest change of mind after reading the conversation between the two of them before the filming started- compared to just seeing all the Amy Cooper Videos? I've responded to a handful of videos on this topic and have only one person reply. Good or bad, I'm very interested in opinions of what I am bringing up. Thank you so much.

Interesting... I have been been a "bird watcher" for years... Traveled out of country with fellow "bird watchers"...ha ha... Never heard of bird watchers throwing treats to dogs. In fact, I would consider it rude if someone threw a treat to my pet without permission given my dog, had allergies. First time, I heard of this was today... However in fairness to the dog...it sounds like this "Harvard educated science editor" is actually in fact the trouble maker... With intent... Because being such a dog hater as to request someone leash what is clearly a kind playful dog... And then wait to make sure they leash it...and video tape the entire thing... Is creepy stalker activity in my opinion. If you want a dog, leashed say so and move on... Live and let live... She leashed her dog... And he wasn't satisfied... She then requests he stop filming her...and he still is not satisfied... instead of calling it a day...and watching his "birds"...he escalates with another threat... He was already doing what he wanted when he decided to complain...and again when he decided to video tape her and her dog... clearly he gets off on harassing people and pets he feels power over and clear from his confession he knowingly wears glasses because he thinks nerds are not threatening...which is a ridiculous statement because most nerds I know female included are more than capable of defending themselves. So, it's not okay for a white woman to say African American however it is okay for him to use the term "nerd"... The very fact that he did that means he thinks studying is a joke...and people who think studying is a joke...are not "bird watchers". Seriously, I have to call fowl play!
