Boeing has always had a bad reputation regarding its ability to manage and build non-airplane projects. But now, all their great engineers that designed and built the 7X7 fleet in the 60s and 70s are dead or retired, and they never bothered to replace them because they didn't foresee changes in the industry caused by higher fuel prices and deregulation creating greater competition between airlines. It was a huge mistake to allow them to buy up McDonnell-Douglass. I dislike Airbus planes because their inability to dump fuel in an emergency decreases one's survival odds from 1 in a million to 1 in two million.

Your ability to survive an airplane crash is very high (most hull losses aren't even fatal). Neither A320 nor 737 can dump fuel. Planes can also just land overweight if needed...

Suni and Butch are NOT lost in space as the media has sometimes stated. But the psychological-emotional impact in adapting to this unexpected challenge can be addressed in a uniquely uplifting way. NASA should consider coordinating a Livestream Educational Event with they and young future astronaut teens across the planet. The media spin has been negative when this situation can actually prompt a positive - not just for the many worldwide youth whose space career aspirations are being now fuelled with concerns / questions, but for Butch and Suni's morale and sense of purpose by engaging with more than just their personal family members ... but the young members of their earthly human family hungering for understanding. Technical work alone will not sustain a human being in space. Human beings need integration with their earthly teammates in ongoing, meaningful ways.

Boeing needs to hire SpaceX to fix their spacecraft ASAP.

Boeing is an embarrassment. After all of Boeings shenanigans I’m surprised they are still in business. Government should take over, clean house and fired all the bean counters!

LOL. Bet that pitch came from a Boeing board member with an American MBA.
