Another thing to mention here are the statistics. On tinder, men swipe right 45% of the time while women swipe right 14% There is a HUGE disparity. I'm just saying...

Online dating apps are also a total sausage fest. There are so many more men than women on dating apps. So, women are inherently going to be more picky with their swipes because there are so many more profiles for women to swipe through. Not to mention that women are biologically programmed to be more selective with partners than men are.

I like the footage of the girl swiping on bumble and getting matches. That doesn’t happen for men unless you are the top 5%

that math is nearly impossible. there are statistics on how getting matches skews better for women but your math is alllllll the wayyyyyy offfffff.

I agree. Dating apps greatly exploit female hypergamy. This is why all women on these apps tend to migrate toward the same top 5% of men. Jordan Peterson also discussed this troubling fact.

The woman at the end who says "the apps don't inherently make people less mindful," doesn't understand the subconscious. Many, perhaps most, apps are designed specifically to do just that. People are paid tons of money to design them that way. We can control some of what we do, but certainly not all of it. That's basically how addiction works.
@polycrase3 жыл бұрын
For 95% of straight men online dating is a waste of time and money and very demoralizing. For 95% of straight women it's awesome, they get all the validation they need without having to give anything in return.
@billsimms25113 жыл бұрын
But many women arent getting what they truly want out of online dating either. I’m talking about the ones that are looking for something other than validation.
@emuriddle93643 жыл бұрын
Dating apps is a different game, compared to real life dating. When you meet someone in real life, you don't know much about them. And want to talk to see if it will work out. With dating apps, the information is already there. But you don't know if they're real, or just a "catfish" (fake). And with IRL dating: The person is already there.
@evalangley39854 жыл бұрын
Men get no replies and women just cherrypick over their 50 messages a day. It doesn't work.

women on dating apps are bombarded with constant praise making them think they're more desirable than they really are. This mismatch creates distortion in the dating market place.
@TheKim3693 жыл бұрын
How do you know this? I think the top few gals get slathered with compliments and propositions and the rest get just normal comments, and propositions. For regular gals, the praise comes from airline pilots, movie producers, surgeons, in other words, catfish. I think most of us have a pretty good grip on how to identify a catfish and our own desirability. We still walk around in the real world. I think there is a problem in the fact that, in the past, most women were without financial means and were vulnerable, and had to be grateful to be "picked". Now most women have the means to be self supporting and aren't desperate, so if men are serious, they need to up their game. The distortion isn't in women's perception of their own value, it's in men expecting a high value woman without themselves being high value.

Phone world and digital media does not allow us to truly know one another, just hyper- objectify or hyper-desensatize one another. You are worth getting to know and knowing someone else.
@tres55333 жыл бұрын
All apps for men are really a waste of time and effort unless you're in the top 5% of looks according to various media sources. Women mostly use it to validate their looks and distract themselves in an entertaining way - meaning getting a ego boost. IRL intros are much better chances. So, just go up and kindly introduce yourself, with manners.

A lot of docs fail to talk about the gender-specific dynamics in online dating that differ by each group. It's treated as if men and women have the same experiences, when the reality is that couldn't be further from the truth.

Yeah. I match with a few and stop and then talk to them until they weed themselves out. I narrow them down to one. Stick with one. That one doesn't work, then I go back. I don't like the infinite options thing. I already emailed bumble about platform message security. They can spoof from those accounts, game the algorithm and use it as a conduit to intercept me. I'm in the middle of a legal battle and a criminal case that involves cyber stalking. The people that harass me use that app as a way to get in contact with me and scare me or intimidate me.
