Last night's debate has brought to the forefront serious concerns about the cognitive abilities and stamina of those aspiring to lead our nation. It's alarming to see the incumbent, arguably the most powerful person in the world, struggle to articulate coherent thoughts without the aid of a teleprompter. The excuses of 'having a cold' or it being '9 pm' are frankly inadequate when we're discussing the individual responsible for making critical decisions that affect millions of lives. Consider the gravity of the situation: we're living in a world with two active wars, and the person we elect needs to be ready to lead at any hour, under any circumstances. The presidency isn't a 9-to-5 job with scheduled breaks. While personal likability and stance on social issues like LGBTQ+ rights are important, they shouldn't be the primary factors in choosing a leader. We need to critically evaluate each candidate's ability to perform under pressure, communicate clearly, and make sound judgments in complex geopolitical scenarios.
