this is scary.. how are we supposed to tell whether doctors/hospitals are trustworthy? This was a so-called "top of the line doctor"!

Get multiple opinions from completely separate doctors, hospitals and companies, if possible.

I'm glad Fata got prison time, but this happens in every state. I've seen doctors who talk patients into unnecessary procedures (or even operations), just so they can bill the insurance company. A reputable medical doctor does not recommend surgery except as a last resort. And yes, if your doctor says you need a dangerous treatment (like chemo therapy) you need second opinion.

Why didn't the 2 NPs and Dr not report him instead of just quitting? So insane.
@gardensofthegods2 жыл бұрын
Sarah o , I agree I was thinking the exact same thing . Maybe in the future they need to change the laws where if a doctor or nurse don't report the doctor who they know is doing something wrong then they too will get in trouble if they don't at least report what they know
@saraho95682 жыл бұрын
@@gardensofthegods There's already a law. Nurses and Doctors have to report illegal activities. Pretty much anyone who works with the public and obtain their license thru the state have to report it.

Get people magazine story when this Dr went to jail. A newly hired nurse noticed patients were on IV chemotherapy an hour longer than supposed to be. She contacted the regulatory agency with her concerns. She didn't hear an answer back only after REPEATEDLY trying to contact them. They wrote back a year later and said everything was okay. It would be a few years later when the Dr who treated the patient with the broken leg who didn't have cancer received a million dollars for being a whistleblower. He went to the same regulatory agency. They said they weren't contacted by the nurse until she showed their letter to the press. They then said she could've gone somewhere else. What they didn't say was how inept they were.

Omg what is the deal with these Dr's??? I live in S.A. Tx and was being treated by a Dr Jorge Zamora-Quezada for my Fibromyalgia, and he to was diagnosing patients with numerous illnesses. He would them proscribe different medications for illnesses we did not have to include Chemo!!! Really what greed

The first whistleblower was oncology nurse Angela Swantek. Three years prior to all this, she took her concerns of Fata’s unethical and possibly criminal practices to Michigan state authorities, who promptly dismissed them as unworthy of any investigation. The incompetence (corruption?) of those state authorities cost Fata’s victims 3 more years of unsuspecting harm. Thank god for people like Ms. Swantek and Mr. Karadsheh.

The FDA for most part has been doing well, but does need more oversite. Without the FDA, meth, cocaine and heroin would be prescribed so people would be dying.
