First you’re arrested, then you’re charged, then you have a trial where the government presents evidence that you committed the crime (or 34 crimes in this case), then a jury of many random people decides if you are guilty or innocent, then a judge determines what your punishment should be based on several factors including previous similar convictions, your criminal history and potential to commit similar crimes again. Trump was found guilty by a jury of 12 people selected and agreed to by Trump’s own legal representation.
