Shakespeare's Hamlet isn't half as bloody as its original, the Norse saga of Amleth. The king holds a funeral celebration because he thinks Amleth is dead. Amleth kills the king, traps all the funeral guests in the palace, and burns it down. After being crowned he travels and fights various gory battles before he himself is killed - it's kind of obligatory for Norse heroes to die a violent death in the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this whimsical retelling by CBSRMT. It's a lot easier on the nerves than the Scandinavian and Elizabethan versions.
