First time I had the honor to vote at 18 in 1976, I voted for Jimmy Carter. A good man. A true Christian man. A person that tried to lead this nation, but a nation that was unresponsive to his honestly. Bless this man.

And after he continued to be who he was all his life and use his celerity for good. All this is what got him elected, it's good he and his wife lived a good long life maybe one of the best human beans to be President.

Also, for all the people ragging on Jimmy Carter's time in office, I believe his empathy and promotion of human rights, do enormous work to promote a positive image of America abroad. His actions will be looked at by many millions of people in the future, and those kind actions will add credence to the idea that America does stand for Freedom, equality, Christian values, and so on. This soft power is enormously useful, because it helps to build trust, which is very lacking these days.

I've always thought little of President Carter. Thanks to youtube though I've found I was so wrong. He accomplished a lot in four years of office, never once attacked any country, and did a lot of humanitarian work after office. He's become one of my favorites and I generally lean right.

I've always felt that Jimmy Carter is underrated. Maybe with his environmental policies he was thirty or forty years ahead of his time, but I think there's something noble about the man. Refusing to play games with politicians, even within his own party. Was honest with developments as he said he would and made a conscious decision not to use the military to rescue the hostages that were held in Iran. He felt that bombing Tehran would put the hostages in danger, face reprisals for any attack by the US
