Japanese people live so peacefully. It’s so nice to see how every land on earth has its own unique story and its own way of life. Impressive cooking skills reminded me of that midnight diner tv show on Netflix. You seem like a self sufficient person that can take care of himself and that’s a very good quality to have 😊

Thank you for the peaceful video. I watched this while eating lunch, here in Brazil. The Peace Park stroll made me cry a little. Not just out of sadness, but because of your thankfullness to life. It would be a delight to visit your country someday. Keep doing your great work

Sho, thank you so much for your videos. They're always soothing and whenever I have a really bad dinner service there's a sense of peace getting the garden update (sorry about the edamame but the spinach is looking mighty good); seeing the magnificent views (even when it's raining cats and dogs); the always entertaining shopping trips and fun item reveals when putting things into your refrigerator. My favorite part in this video is watching you cook. Now, you may say to yourself, "But I just make Miso soup." HOWEVER, don't cut yourself short - the important part is (and I say this to myself while watching you)..."WHAT yummy stuff is he going to put in the Miso Soup this time and what are the side dish choices he's making??!!". You had me going with the potatoes, for the life of me (as I was sipping some cold-brewed-carbonated iced tea minus the large, round, really cool ice cubes) you lost me with the sautéed onions. I could not figure out where you were going with this. Intrigued, I sipped more tea and started laughing when the potato masher bent. And this is where several things happened simultaneously: I "nasal jetted" my tea (when your mouth is full of liquid and you start laughing so hard that the mouthful of liquid you were trying to swallow shoots at high velocity from your mouth up through your nose-probably a really bad description but I tried). I was laughing because I too, have bent other kitchen utensils while trying to mash potatoes-lol-you are not alone Dude!! Strangely I felt comforted.

Thank you for your warm and kind comment! I was really happy and had a lot of fun reading your message. It also encourages me a lot! Hahaha, when I go to the grocery store, I always think, "What yummy stuff am I going to put in the miso soup today?" 😆 I'm sorry about your kitchen utensils 😂 but I feel relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who bends them! lol

@@life_in_nagasaki SHOOOOoooo! Keep up the good stuff Dude... Get down with your bad boy knife skills-get those veggies - show them who is the boss!!! Hi again Mr. Sho. It is rainy season here too where I am. I like light rains every now and then, but not when it rains and pours too hard. On the bright side, it provides a cooling effect and, at the very least, the plants get watered. 😅

Nagasaki truly is beautiful. I am glad the Peace Park looks and feels so serene. If you have a chance, would you be able to show some of the Autumn festival in Nagasaki? I know you mentioned looking forward to it and it would be interesting to see if it is like fall festivals here. On your walk through the Sumiyoshi shopping district, I noticed there were small vegetable vendors, do you ever bring home vegetables for your miso soup? Also, the Champon looks delicious! Take care and stay safe!

At least you dont have to water your garden.Which looks very good. While living in Holland it rained so much that we wouldnt bother carrying umbrellas any more, just rain jackets. Miso soup tastes extra good in weather like that.Your diet seems very healthy..We can obtain spice mix here in Asian shops called Aji which is based on pork bone broth and some other spices. Wonder if that is the same composition which is in your bottle?I asked in live chat but you were already gone. What were the goods that were traded in Nagasaki port in early days? It is good that people dont hold grudge against USA. They had to forgive to be able to move on. Howere forgiving does not mean we should forget how awful that was against innocent people. You mentioned the cranes.Maybe sometimes you can narrate a story of Sadakos 1000 cranes its quite interesting.Dutch have a dish which is called Hutspot. Its made of mashed potatoes carrot and onions. Very yummy.Fork is also very good to mash poptatoes. Dr Hansen is a very well known author and that particular boook can help you to get insides of what computerized are has as effect on our life.Very relaxing video. Thank you. Cheers

Hi Dubi! I don't like using an umbrella, so rain jackets are a great idea 😆 I'm not sure about the spice... I guess it might be different in Japan...? By the way, "Aji" means "taste(味)" in Japanese. I think nowadays not many goods are traded at Nagasaki port. The most common arrivals in Nagasaki are probably foreign tourists. I'm very glad that they came to Nagasaki ☺️ You know a lot about Japanese history! Yes, I can introduce Sadako's 1000 cranes someday. Yes, his book is very interesting! Lately, I've been a bit addicted to my mobile devices, and I don't think it's good for my life and future, so I want to change that.

I use grapeseed oil, witch has a sweet taste, not strong as olive oil. It comes from Italiy, France, Spain, California and Australia.

I'm interested in your making green tea in sparkling water. Do you put a tea bag in hot water first, and follow by sparkling water. Right? It looks so tempting. I feel like making tea your way. Please
@life_in_nagasaki
@life_in_nagasaki 7 ай бұрын
This bag is specially made for cold brewing, so I can easily make tea just by adding water. It also makes delicious tea with carbonated water, so I directly add carbonated water. For regular tea bags that are made for hot water, it might be better to brew the tea with hot water first 😌
