During WWI, the Alabama military station of Ft McClellan served as a training ground for American troops. As time went on, the installation was used to store dangerous chemicals, including Agent Orange. Many tons of Agent Orange and other highly volatile substances like uranium and nerve gas were stored at Ft McClellan before being used extensively in the Vietnam War to wipe out vegetation and foliage, exposing thousands of service members and civilians to the chemical and causing lasting damage. The hazardous materials spilled out into surrounding areas, putting everyone stationed there at risk. More than half a million soldiers have been exposed to hazardous chemicals while stationed at Ft McClellan, and some effects on their health over the long term have been documented. Monsanto chemical plant nearby, PCBs from the plant were released into the environment, and the surrounding community was exposed, from 1929 to 1971. .... I was stationed at Fort McClellan in 1973. I’ve been ill every since.

What types of illnesses are Fort McClellan service members suffering from? Are they higher, the same, or lower than the national average? How does one prove their illness is service related? Are the locals from Anniston, Alabama suffering at the same rate as those who served at and worked at Fort McClellan? I was there from October 1984-March 1985; basic and MP school, then I went back in 1988 for Physical Security School. I've suffered from muscle spasms, joint problems, arthritis, and now different types of skin cancer and I am not a sun worshipper. I wonder if my aliments may be as a result of my time at Fort McClellan. How do I find out?

Page 7 of this same "Potential exposure at Ft McClellan" refers to WAC as "medical cases". What does that mean medical cases? The former Army base (Ft McToxic) was the national training school for the former Women's Army Corps from 1950 to 1978 and that we have a significant women's population who are likely medical cases stemming from the use of Agent Orange at the base." I was there in 1976, WAC basic training, with lots of chronic health issues.

Was there in 1980 for basic and MP school. Then was stationed in Korea in 1980 to 1981 on the DMZ. Why can't this be added to the PACT Act? Agent Orange was stored at Ft. McClellan and used along the DMZ until the mid 80's. My claim was turned down.

Att. Sue Hays sued the government on the behalf of the ppl of Aniston Al. The soil is toxic there in Aniston Al where Ft. McClellan is. I hate it was toxic because I truly learned a lot about life there. It was my 1st time being away from my family!. I learned how to stand on my own!!!

Why do you ask us to reach out to CCK? I was just denied herbicide exposure for service in 1982 at Ft. McClellan. I have a diagnosis of prostate cancer and resulting side effects of prostatectomy as well as parkinsonism both diseases presumptive to herbicide exposure. I reached out to CCK before I filed in 2020 and you said sure file and when you get your denial we can help. I got the denial and need help with the appeal now and CCK says they can't help.
