Recently had a discussion on when to enable root guard. We have Core-distro-access and i usually configure root guard on the down facing uplink ports. Sometimes we also have to cascade on the access layer so i configure root guard on the uplink to the downwards access switch. My colleague told me root guard is not necessary there but given this example topology configuring root guard in the switch closest to the customer switch makes the most sense
