The best tutorial out there, Jeremy explained it so well, he explains it that even a beginner in networking can understand it. I don't skip the ads so I can at least give something back for his efforts. So please, let the ads play out.

Hi Jeremy, I really appreciate this week video since I am planning and researching VSS for my company. And the section about physical port(switch/slot/interface) you covered in the video is very helpful. After passing the CCNA with watching your videos, I got a job offer but felt like I did not know much about the hardware and components 😅

There is always more to learn/do/grow. You will never succeed if you do not attempt. Go for it. Let your potential employer know your limitations, and that you will work hard and strive to keep the network running

Hello Jeremy ! I really enjoy your videos and I appreciate the effort you put into making them. I was wondering if you could consider changing the background color from white to another color that is easier on the eyes. The bright white color can be quite harmful and distracting, especially for those who watch your videos for long periods of time. Thank you for your consideration!

Thanks!! A question about quiz 5, imagine that I reload all the boxes in stackwise, will the election maintain or will the third switch be elect as active?
@AhmedShalabi-v1c
@AhmedShalabi-v1c 5 ай бұрын
@Jeremy, great work on the content. @24:38, you mention the election is done using the priority followed by the MAC. In other docs online it shows different election process with other tie-breakers in between, details below. Did I misunderstand? User priority Default Configuration Hardware/software priority Uptime MAC address

I work at a company that has private fibers connecting two buildings about a mile apart using a data center interconnect with about 6Tbps of bandwidth. They have a Nexus chassis switch in each building connected into a vPC domain. It was hard to wrap my head around the idea of a single logical switch being in two different buildings at the same time. VMware ESXi servers with VSAN are connected to both switches via etherchannel to create a stretched cluster. It works well but I worry how bad things will break if we lose connectivity between the buildings.

Perhaps a backup link would be appropriate in your case if you are worried...of course if you lose the main line the system will go down for sure.

what is the behavior of SWV during a failover? for example, if the active SUP fails and failover to the STANDY Hot SUP. Does it cause the chassis with the faulty SUP to reboot?

Hy Jeremy, as you have said after stacking physical switches into a single logical switch, changes made on a switches automatically sync with other devices but if there is a situation when we want to change something on a single switch or 2-3 switches not all then how we can do it.

I noticed that in the Example Design at the end of the video, the distribution switches (3 of them) were stacked using SmartWise Virtual. How is this possible, as StackWise Virtual allows only two switches to be connected?
