I watched the whole show without subtitles and still enjoyed it. First and foremost I love Xiao Zhan's Xiao Chunsheng. He's very real and unforgettable for me. Thank you for producing this quality drama, my first 70's era period Chinese drama that i actually enjoyed and look forward to every episode. It's fast paced with tight storylines, captivating characters and beautiful cinematography and visuals. Not the dull, boring, slow period dramas that i know.

i liked the actor played Gohua , he is very chatty and pleasant, i really liked Hongling too, she is very beautiful and very underrated. its like i watched it for Xiao zhan but my heart stayed for Hongling's life story, decisions and her regrets beautifully shown in the drama.
