Even with my scupper plugs in on my Titan 10.5, I still get water coming in from the drive cover! (But that's only if I go over 4 miles an hour, or in 15+ mph white cap winds!) Lol My Titan weighs over 200 pounds, with all the fishing gear, elec. motor, and both batteries (nearly as much as me!). People afraid of their "Sunday-Best-Shoes" getting wet, don't need to be in Any Watercraft...! Haha!
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Kayaks sit in water so you better be prepared to get wet sooner or later. Ha. Thank you for watching.
@VinceB391 Жыл бұрын
Appreciate you for making this video man! Just to clarify, the little bit of water that’s coming in is from the open scuppers and not from the area around the plastic centerpiece, right?
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
Correct. When I would pedal it would come up the scubber holes. I took the plugs out to test. It would drain pretty quickly and I believe this is much better than the older titans.

I have been enjoying your video on the native titen X I have one myself but have not put it in the water, I have done some mods but my question to u is did your seat come with a bar to clock the seat when it's facing forward? At ICAST they showed using it but mine dose not have one so I thought I'd reach out to you. I have also reached out to native but they have not answered yet
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
No. It free spins. If you look at it in line it says 360 non locking seat. When I find the locking mechanism I am going to purchase it. Would probably make another good video. Thank you for watching.
@jeremypierce16077 ай бұрын
According to the company, in testing most people liked it not locked because it stays forward really well and they you don't have to unlock it to turn.
@sgastel222 ай бұрын
Curious as to why you do not lock your pedal drive down? there is a clip behind it that should be be used to hold the system down.

Hopefully in their future model they will have a retractable rudder.
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
This has that sling blade rudder. It drops down to more of a skeg position. Kinda like the Hobie pa. I just don't use that option. It turns so good without having to.

@@charlescurryadventures you are going to love it. I really loved my Titan but I got cause in some real rough waters and if I didn’t have a pump I would have sunk because the water wouldn’t bail out
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
@@freeagentangler5159 that's what I heard about the older models. That's why I put out this video. So people could see for themselves. I never owned the older titan so I was not sure how bad they got. This one seems to drain pretty decent.

Water or no water in the cockpit is only a matter of weight in the kayak, how high the deck is above the waterline, and kayak size/design. My 2016 Slayer Propel 13 always gets perhaps 1/4 inch or so of water in the cockpit. But that's because the fully loaded hull puts the waterline near the top of scupper holes. The higher the waterline, the more stable the kayak is for standing. A small amount of water in the cockpit is irrelevant for me - I wear sandals in warm weather and waterproof boots in cold weather! I can easily stand in my SP13, but barely could in my older Outback because the deck was several inches above the waterline. By the way, I only plug my scuppers for the 4 front scuppers in the cockpit. One has my transducer in it and the other 3 have allowed dropped lures to get sucked out. I ALWAYS leave the 2 scuppers under the seat and the 2 in the rear compartment open. You want all compartments, IMO, to have a method to drain unless your only fishing small, calm ponds. I often pass through rough water with waves breaking over my bow and the excess water drains right out through the open scuppers. I know a guy who sold his SP13 and bought a PA14 because a small amount of water in the cockpit bothered him. Damn, it's kayak fishing - and the water is not a big deal. Now he has a barge and God help him if he breaks his mirage drive 3 miles from the launch!!! Try paddling that monster!
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
My Titan X is a foot short than my PA14 but it is 2 inches wider and the titan definitely paddles easier. Thank you for watching.
@piesquared1025 Жыл бұрын
You only need to pull scuppers if your getting water over the bow or other reasons. Got a lil water ? pull a scupper, let it drain, plug it back up. Scuppers in = more bouyancy. Running rapids, leave them out. Running calm lakes, leave them in.
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
Yes this was for testing purposes. They said the old titans kept water in them even with the scuppers removed. That inches of water stayed in the cockpit area. Testing to see if the new titan x did the same thing. Thank you for watching.

Can you confirm if the seat locks are all into position OR does it freely swivel?! if it doesn’t lock, can it move around if you pedal very hard?
@charlescurryadventures Жыл бұрын
It does not lock. On the website it says non locking 360 swivel seat. It does move a tiny bit when pedaling but not a lot. When they release the lever system that locks it I will be purchasing it.
