Hi guys I just got the Axial 24 XC-1 and it rolls over "for like nothing at all" (Archer reference) I thought it was me but I also have the Goolski HBX 209 and I cant get that little bugger to turn over, but none the less I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was going to get one from my local hobby shop thinking that maybe this truck wouldn't roll but thanks to you I know better, thanks guys.

Tip of the day you can lay down a couple rows of solder inside of the huge bumper for huge Improvement and simply just Mount the bumper to the top of the bracket instead of flipping the bracket so you do not lift the body at all
@kevincasey6876 Жыл бұрын
If you have spare JLU front bumper mounts you end up lowering the body to close that bumper gap .

@Neilltheone2 жыл бұрын
A huge problem with these axials is exactly what happens in the real world. The absolute best crawlers out on REAL trails are machines that are very low center of gravity and they have HUGE flex. So think like a buggy. As soon as you raise these up with no real weight to keep them planted down they start rolling. Another thing that I did with my kyosho that they seem to have similar issues with is on all four corners of the hard body I have little velcro tungsten weights I add on to keep the machine planted when you're crawling + other brass and aluminum mods I added. Cool video, might look into getting an axial now

Great tips Tony! Love the scale looks of the Bronco but good to know there are ways to make it a better performer.
@ron4862 жыл бұрын
I agree, out of the box it rolls quite easy. With that said I also own the axial Rubicon and the axial C10 pickup. I prefer driving the Bronco for the challenge of keeping it up right. So I think for now I'm going to leave it be. And when I get frustrated I'll just break out one of the other trucks. Good video, good tips, thanks for sharing..

I heard removing the sticker on the motor case helps them run a bit cooler. I removed the sticker and zip tied a heatsink against my c-10 motor and it hasn’t burned up with the added brass(about 30g). I’m doing the same with the bronco I just picked up and with the hard body the bronco will be much heavier than the c-10.

Looks like you have a Venom 430mah in the stock truck. Is that what you run? If they allow a different size battery, curious why you wouldn't go smaller for reduced weight.
@CCxRC2 жыл бұрын
I run all kinds of batteries. The Venom packs I bought back when the SCX24 was still new and the Venom batteries were cheaper than stock. I have the Venom, tons of stock batteries, and a couple EcoPower. All are stock size. I prefer the run time of these.This wasn't for stock class as this is the upgraded truck. I ran through 3 batteries that day and Venom happened to be what I grabbed last. I'm just trying to get as many hours of run time as I can on this motor so I can decide if I proceed with them or not.

Have you thought about lowering the suspension to have some drop? Back in 1986 I was new to rc and my rc10 with 6 gear transmission was jacked up to the max. A guy came over and spoke to me about drop. Your suspension needs to be able to drop into holes and crevices with out moving the body. It seems to me if the springs were shorter then the shocks could allow the corner to drop into holes without tiping the chassis and all that beautiful hard body detail and weight !
@CCxRC2 жыл бұрын
Dean, I do that to most of my SCX24s. This one is still in the beginning stages. One problem is tire rub. The other trucks i've done that to have been lexan and I didn't mind trimming the body to allow for the truck to ride lower. This hard body isn't as forgiving. I'm still on stock stocks, which are limiting as well. Ideally, I'd get longer shocks, but run short springs on them to keep the current ride height, but all the shocks to extend more to drop into holes and crevices. This video is mainly about adding counterweight. I'm still waiting on my extend shocks for this one
@auxil47 Жыл бұрын
Not for nothing but my XC1 is light as a feather much lighter than my Goolski HBX yet it still rolls over easily I find that if I don't articulate the rear tires its a bit better. Anyway I'm not putting anymore money into it I can just by a better rig the AX 24 is fun one just has to incorporate righting the 24 when it rolls over sounds like another job for my girlfriend.

It looks great ! But ! To enjoy it you have to spend a couple hundred bucks . Axial needs to upgrade it first .
@CCxRC2 жыл бұрын
It makes sense for them not to. Many people enjoy it like this. If you want to tackle harder lines or comp with it...then you upgrade it. Some people wouldn't never buy in because of the cost increase of it coming box stock as upgraded...not to mention...everyone upgrades differently...so you'd be paying for upgrade parts you don't want.
