some fun facts about shutdown: byul took part in writing the lyrics (specifically the 2nd verse and the rap) if you read the lyrics carefully, youll notice seori says “hold my waist” and “on your lap” during the chorus while byul says “hold your waist” and “on my lap”

Hwasa was joking on Studio "HwaNight" that Moonbyul got away with the lyrics to 'Shutdown' but thay she couldn't get 빛 cleared (and had to reapply)... I totally agree. Between the two songs, only the lyrics to one, make be blush.

I absolutely loved Shutdown, it's sexy but still intimate and not performative! When I read the lyrics for the first time, my eyes got so wide and I was so so happy. And Seori's sensual ad-libs added to Shutdown in such a beautiful way! And Lunatic is a such a fun bop, I've been listening to it a lot!

You are completely correct about the lyrics being connected! As someone mentioned, the whole album is supposed to be one whole narrative! From a new encounter, that results in a blooming relationship, to the eventual falling out of love, to the break up with the longing and pain it will ensue. Shutdown is great for being so soft, visually, it's conforting and intimate. It's sexy, but it really is soft, I think it's more of a romantic song than just *hand gestures* - so many of us (wlw) look for that warm comfortable sensual relationship as the one true goal. The video is supposed to represent that even if Seori is not physically with Byul, she'll be in her mind all the time (as Byul said "when someone is always with you, during the day she's always there" I'm paraphrasing but that's the gist as I remember) - as much as she tries to distract herself (book, meal) her thoughts always come back to Seori's character, thinking of when they'll meet. In the last scene when they are singing together and finally lock eyes, it's saying that Seori is finally there after the work day. I think you'll love the whole album - if not for all the songs, but the concept. She also has a new self composed song here!!! Ddu Ddu Ddu, which is honestly amazing... it is my fave in this entire project as much as I love Shutdown. Solar's been teasing Byul about the lyrics, they all have, ever since it came out, nijajnivncjidnv. They did a live (solarsido year end live) together that same day and she even sang a bit of the chorus. Not to be that person... but Byul said she has a lot more 19+ songs in store, and that are even more explicit - according to her Shutdown ended up not being as "racy" as she wanted it to be *coff coff* (I can only assume she wanted to mention body parts and not MOUNTAINS - boobs - and BRIDGES - legs; according to kmoos). She said that one of those in storage is name "ING" and is probably the strongest one. I'm just- miss, ma'am... what in the bungee jumping, boat rowing, red light, am I supposed to do with this info. I was honestly giggling along with you, thank you for you reaction!!! I'm always looking forward to your videos... I'm honestly surprised I wasn't subscribed already, I'm correcting that rn. I just love my artist Moonbyul, everything she does is dazzling to me and I'm so excited for the new concert. My heart is full with pride and I shouldn't be almost crying over someone I don't even know personally, yet here I am.

Loved your review for Shutdown! If that song was your favorite, you should try watching ddu ddu ddu which contains a similar vibe and also shows more of her smooth vocals. Another recommendation is her recent remake of the ballad Trying to say goodbye which became one of my favorites songs from Moonbyul, her singing is improving so much after this cb!
