I have one of these and it’s the best red dot I’ve ever owned. I’ve had aimpoint full size and micros, eotechs, mros etc. love that I can flip to a bdc reticle with a magnifier too. Best of everything… t2 form factor, eotech reticle.

After much debate I think this is a older one. The new ones sold today apparently have less tint.
@josiahb552 жыл бұрын
@@CDOES I do believe that is correct. I have one bought about a year or so ago and the blue tint is no where near that extreme. Interesting.

The big question is...this romeo4t or the holosun hs515? Very similar, if not identical. I hear whispers thru the internets that holosun is SIGs red dot supplier anyway. Sig just assembles the romeo4 line in house.

I've got a 4H on my KR9, love it even with my awful astigmatism

The tint under magnification really killed this optic for me. If they could tone down the notch filter they would have a winner.
@dowlingc22 жыл бұрын
It seems theres a few different generations of the R4T floating around out there. I personally have 2 and love them both. I recently bought the second one after seeing one a buddy of mine bought recently. The one he got had dramatically less blue tint, and slightly sharper dot, compared to my first R4T. My first R4T is about 2 years old now, and has been going strong the whole time, love it, but i wasnt a fan of the blue tint, especially when used with a magnifier. Im happy to report however, that my newest one, which I bought about a month ago is identical to my buddy's. The blue tint is barely noticeable to my eye, and actually appears to be identical to the level of tint in my aimpoint T2, with dot/reticle crispness also on par with my T2, with no streaking/clustering/starbursting when viewed through a magnifier, and I do have an astigmatism. I cant comment to performance with NODS as I dont have any yet. I personally like them more than my aimpoints, and thats coming from a diehard aimpoint fanboy. I cant help but wonder if the sample you have is an older generation. 🤙

@@Иванпонимаете-г4ш It's not designed that way to run without a battery as far as I understand the battery is part of the circuit so it has to be installed and it uses both battery and solar to give you up to a Runtime in excess of 100,000 hours with solar AND battery usage at the same time. Solar probaly only acounts for a small amount of the power to help extend battery life.

When you were talking about the rail getting hot i had thoughts. If the whole rail gets hot then there would be more space between lands. But you didn't talk about if it has paint that would tighten it up.

Depending on how the rail would expand it could do almost anything. but worried about that i am not

the tint comes as something to prevent reflections without the distraction of a killflash. Huge, huge importance in combat.

A lot of negative comments about the Romeo's. Get your hands on an 8T. Big/Heavy for sure and the best red dot I ever looked through That would include both any EOTech I ever looked through and the UH1......not to mention the T2. I own or owned them all and the 8T is an amazing product. Sig has come a long way. They may have gone a little aggressive with their pricing, but they are putting out some good stuff. The T2 is a great dot, but I think you need some different looks available to you.
@ckkevin96202 жыл бұрын
I have a 4T and I love it. The only negative is that it's not a T2. LOL I'm not sure why that one appears so blue in the video. I have mine mounted on an MPX and just got it out and it doesn't look blue at all. I'm wondering what's going on with the one you have? I also don't recall it being so blue in other reviews. Hmm.

I recall Hop did his test with the 65moa circle as well for night vision. I wonder if it'll look half decent with just the dot?
@staplersen91712 жыл бұрын
I own one and recently upgraded to an aimpoint comp m4s. Its still not great under night vision, even going dot only and flipping the caps down for max light transmission. Under low lighting it's closer to aiming at where I know the target is. The aimpoint is way better under nods

I really wanna like this red dot, but I've seen some weird complaints (documented) about it that make me question the build quality. For the MSRP they have out there, there are just better options imo.

I had this. Seemed great at first but I changed the mount and 2 of the 4 screws stripped. SIG sent me new screws but that didn’t make me feel good. I stopped thinking of it as a duty grade optic at that point.

I’ve heard rumors it’s like the 8T. Assembled in the US with US housing and parts, Japanese glass and South Korean emitter. No clue about the solar panel though as the 8T doesn’t have one. Really torn between this or just playing it safe and throwing extra money towards a Aimpoint T2.

@Camouflage Kumquat Seeing glare when the brightness is too high is pretty common, even Aimpoints do this. Not sure what you mean about the reticle though since the center dot is only 1 MOA and the crosshairs flanking it are 1x5, not much bigger than many LPVOs. They look fine through a Juliet 4.
