Hey Tony, I like your thoughts here. Never used a teleprompter on my personal channel, although I did try one for the first time for a review I did last month for the absolute sound and I think I liked the results for a "formal" review.

@poetryonplastic Thanks for watching and I was only kidding about the teleprompter...your presentations are always spot on and your response video was right on target. Keep rockN

PoetryOnPlastic is a professional classical orchestral musician. He is primarily interested in classical music, but that is not his exclusive musical interest.

Love the lasagna analogy. Who needs a teleprompter, your knowledge is deep to its foundation through 6 decades. Love your takes on our passion. Michael poetry is a beacon for the newest generation to aspire to. Thanks Tony

With you 100% on this Tony. I burn compilation CDs for the car, but I also listen to these at home. Moving a vinyl or CD collection? Well I just did that a few months ago: ~80 14X14X14 cartons of LPs and a similar number of boxes of CDs. NO DAMAGE. If nothing else, the experience taught me that I have maybe TOO MUCH recorded music!

Enjoyed the video! Cds do not have a digital sound. Less than great cd players have the "digital sound", or hints of it, not the cds themselves usually, even if the players cost $30,000 or more. Those things like thinness, and lack of body, edge accentuation, hardness in the highs, grain, etc. those are the players, not the cds for the most part. I do partial re-design of cd players to improve the sound quality and I can tell you that as a whole, cds sound as analog as analog. Not even the slightest hint of the sound being digital. I think we were all brainwashed by audio media that vinyl sound is superior. Vinyl sound is only superior to less than great cd playback. They wrongly told us the problem was the cds; when they should have told us that the problem was the playback gear. Those non-organic sounds are mostly digital distortions and glare caused by stray eddy currents within the players. Decrease digital distortions and stray eddy currents enough and you have a sound from most cds that is as analog sounding as anything gets. So believing that cds have an ingrained hint of digital sound is wrong. It's the playback equipment. I hope lp people are enjoying the big covers and easier to read inserts, as that is really the only advantage. Paying many times more for an lp than a cd because of sound quality, I believe is foolish and much wasted money. There's price gouging galore. Let's say with the cd revival, more advanced cd players with less digital distortion and glare come onto the market in several years. I don't think people will then give vinyl credit for better sound. Digital is still in it's infancy. We saw the first digital lps in the 1970s, before the compact disc. They have been making lps since 1948. Lp technology is 30 years older..Comparing a technology that is 76 years old with one that is around 40 years old is like comparing apples and oranges. Yes, when cds came out, I could hear the problems with the sound, after having lived with fairly high end record playing equipment for the better part of a decade. I could hear the problems with the sound, so much so that I went cassette for newly released music. Cassette hung around a little linger than when the major labels quit making vinyl. But digital has grown up and has more progress being made than vinyl. And with most vinyl by far, you are getting digital mixed in anyway. Don't believe you know compact discs just yet. If you hear them played on something good enough, you might realize that you never really knew them at all.

@sidesup8286 Understood and appreciate your insights. Of course, Compact disc playback gear is the tangible piece of the equation that most leave out. The same is true (and perhaps more so) with analog playback gear. I play my cds via a moderate CD player thru my analog rig (all tubes). Thanks for watching and contributing to this topic. I would enjoy hearing your opinion on "digital fatigue" I find it definitely a thing.
