செண்பகப் பறவை பற்றி தெரியுமா?

காகம் மாதிரியும், குயில் மாதிரியும் தோற்றம் தருகின்ற இந்தப் பறவை,
(Semboththu) செம்போத்து, Shenbagam செண்பகம்,, (Sembagam)செம்பகம், செங்காகம் என்று பல பெயர்களில் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
கன்னியாகுமரி மற்றும் நாகர்கோவில் பக்கம் இதை குக்கில் என்று சொல்கிறார்கள். Englishல இதன் பேர் greater coucal அல்லது crow pheasant.
இந்தப் பறவை நகரப் பகுதிகளில் செடிகள் நிறைந்த இடத்தில் கூட இருக்கும்.
ஆனால் சட்டென்று பார்வையில் படாது. ஆட்கள் வருகின்ற சத்தம் கேட்டால் செடிகளுக்குள் போய் மறைந்து விடும். பயந்த சுபாவம் கொண்ட பறவை இது.
இதற்கு பறக்கும் தன்மை குறைவு. இரண்டு கால்களில் நடந்து செல்வது… தாவித் தாவி செல்வது… மாதிரியான வகையில்தான் இது நகரும். குறைவான தூரத்திற்குப் பறக்கும்.
இந்தியா, இலங்கை, சீனா, இந்தோனேசியா நாடுகளில் செம்போத்து பறவை பரவலாக காணப்படுகிறது.
இது குயில் இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு பறவை. காகம் மாதிரி உருவத்தில் reddish brown colour இறக்கைகளோட இருக்கிற செம்போத்து பறவைகள்,
காடுகள், மலைகள், வயல்வெளிகள், நகர்ப் புறங்கள்னு எல்லா இடத்திலும் இருக்கும்.
சின்ன சின்ன பூச்சிகள், பல்லி, ஓணான், குருவிக் குஞ்சுகள், பறவைக் கூட்டில் இருக்கிற முட்டைகள் இதெல்லாம்தான் இதன் உணவு.
செம்போத்தின் சத்தம் ரொம்ப distance வரை கேட்கும்.

This bird, which looks like a crow and like a quill,
It is called by many names like

On Kanyakumari and Nagercoil surrounding, it is called as Kukkil.
In English it's called a greater coucal or crow pheasant.
The red-bellied bird is widely found in India, SriLanka, China and Indonesia.
It is a bird belonging to the genus of Quil.
This Crow-like bird, with reddish brown color wings, are found in forests, mountains, fields and also in Suburbs.
Tiny insects, lizards, sparrow chicks, the eggs in the bird's nest are the major food of this bird. It is a low flying bird that can fly only for a short distance.
The sound of the bird, greater coucal, can be heard for a long distance.
The red-bellied bird is a cute, rare bird.
