It's evident Maestro did not overpower on purpose to let Ms. Bartoli shine. What a generous and giving singer he was. At the end you can see they are both satisfied with the result. If he had wanted to, in that practice session, he could have blown the doors off. He never used his voice power unnecessarily. One of the reasons his voice lasted so long.
