Best comment of the year so far! “ Some would say it’s a dream , Some would say it’s a prison” says Christopher. I laughed literally out loud when he said that. Christopher is a man of few words but when he talks it’s wise.

I was lucky enough to get to spend roughly 3 months snowmobiling on the Greenland Ice sheet over two years. Watching your remote trip brings back many memories for me. I long to go back. The silence and isolation are one thing that is hard to portray I found. It's the times when there is nothing but the katabatic winds sliding across the surface. Nowhere can that be experienced but in the Arctic....so jealous of your lifestyle. I long to come back.

i see the cabin and think it is warm inside and cold all around you but being cozy has a special feeling like no other. i see the shot of the store (i think it is) with all it's lights on and think if i stood inside i'd see the cold and think i'm inside being warm and that also makes it cozy. i think it's the idea in a store you have to leave at some time which makes the warmth that so much more. at home you have a choice in/out so being cozy is a given. being in the store is time guided. so the warmth takes a being with it as long as you can because it will be gone in a short time so cozy runs deep. at home you stay and do your home stuff. in the store you may look out, get your idems, may talk to someone (casher/other coustomer) just to delay the leaveing. totally other feeling but same. keep warm, enjoy life, enjoy grim. Gott Liv. one year later if you read these.

Amazing video. But for me, Christoffer was the cherry on top with his wonderful subtle humor. After not answering Cecilia's initial question, he chimes in: "I'm alone. In a cabin. With two women." So few words that said so much.

That aurora footage was stunning! People who know their Winter Sky would have picked out Orion and the Pleiades right away. I was looking for Aldebaran, the eye of Taurus, but I couldn't find it. It's amazing how much you can see when you don't have to worry about light pollution. Or any other kind of pollution, for that matter. I'd happily watch an hour of Northern Lights footage with a gentle piano playing in the background. Talk about an instant stress reliever.

So majestic! The sunrise, the lights, the endless snowy mountains at dusk, the puffy clothes. Thank you for sharing your life in Svalbard with the rest of us! I LOVE winter so much, but it's only good if you have a cozy spot to come back to. My new furnace went out for the second time this month at -3 F. The cold and snow lost theur charm for a couple days. We all huddled in one room together in our sweaters and fleece robes (and for some of us, our God given fur coats 🐈 🐕 ) until it got fixed. Winter is the most magical time when you have refuge and the right clothes. We are fortunate.

When you can find true wonder, joy, excitement in the very simple things in life like lighting a cosy fire, playing cards in the candlelight, seeing the sun after ages, and eating pancakes, (packing up the poop !!!).....?. that is just wonderful!!!! I heard that the northern lights, caused by solar flares can sometimes interfere with tech. Yes.?? True? Maybe why your watch stopped? Love watching you from Kenya, East Africa....in the heat ! 🥵

When I was little, I watched the movie Balto (which I still love to this day I'm in my mid 30s) they showed huskies and northern lights and I just fell in love. I tell my mom all the time aim going to see my Aurora one these days and she think I'm crazy to go to the places I'd need to go to see them. We are Caribbean/South American so the coldest it gets here is 25 degrees Celsius haha but I did live in Canada for 9 yrs so a week or 2 or 3 of minus 30 I can survive once I see my Aurora. 🎉❤

Yours and Lynn’s relationship is definitely friendship goals!! As other’s have said, Christoffer’s comment about being there with the two of you was hilarious!! And oddly explains his silence beforehand. Like he was thinking… “how much do I say? How do I say what I’m really thinking?” LOLOL I have to say, it seems like Grimm’s fur has gotten darker this year. I have recently been confused at times wondering if it’s Fenris I’m seeing! Did he sleep in the cabin with you? It seemed every time you went out in the morning he was already outside to greet you. And not needing to be tied there? That must be nice for him. The sunshine, the aurora, the drone shots, the ocean ice… the scenery up there is just stunning and unbelievable, and you do such a great job of sharing it with us all. Thank you!
