Finally one of these that is built to last and not cobbled together with brad nails and pallets. I'm doing one as a commissioned piece and couldn't bring myself to slap it together like many I've seen. Thanks for sharing. It gave me Something to consider for the lid.

I use western Red Cedar as well on all of mine. Currently building one for a customer using an RTIC $200 cooler they purchased. I am charging them $150 for the wood structure.

Finally someone who built a top that is flat! I have watched lots of these builds, and almost everyone leaves the lid sticking up above the rest of the top and i don't like the way it looks.

You could probably find someone local to just do the cnc part for ya.

There are other ways to do it also you could hand carve. Or cut out with a scroll saw and put a piece behind it.
