@capitalinventor48234 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video but I really would have preferred it not to have the music. I like to hear the craftsperson talk and say what they are doing and the reason for their decisions. Obviously some things don't needs to be said or a bunch of things may be covered with a simple statement. But when it comes to the design choices and the more complicated actions it would be nice to know why or what's being done. For example, why did you choose to use a walnut handle instead of cedar? I'd say that maybe if you said some of these things in the video you might not get so many questions but considering you got questions about what you did with the inside of the cup when you showed that you had put epoxy on it I don't think it would. :)
@ReformedWoodenCreations4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm not much of a talker. And as I design these things I'm just kinda winging it and seeing what the wood wants to do. Trying different things to see the outcome. When I did this video it was only like my third thing I had ever turned, so I was learning what I was doing too. Haha. It also was maybe my fifth video. Also to spread the gospel was a big part of me starting my channel, so the music was a subtle way to do that. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I really enjoy talking to someone that has taken the time to watch one of my videos.

Hi I’m new to wood turning and was just wondering if it is safe to use tung oil on a cedar cup
@ReformedWoodenCreations4 жыл бұрын
I know people have used all kinds of oils, but I personally don't like it because it doesn't 100% seal the wood like epoxy if you plan to use it as a drinking mug or cup. I'm not sure on tung oil if its safe for consumption. Walnut, mineral and some other types of oil are safe. But you would have to apply it periodically through the life of the cup. I hope that helps and answers your question. Thanks so much for watching.
