Cedar Point 1978

Cedar Point was the most beautiful park.....the attention to detail on the landscaping was impeccable. This was a good year for CP, Gemini opened, there was the space spiral, Jungle Larry's, the Aquarium and the frontier lift. I miss these days but i still make an annual trip.....46 years running now.

i totally agree! the frontier lift was one of my favorites. the sound of clanking metal right before the woosh of wind as you left the station still echoes in my head.

I was 6 yrs old in 1978. In my young childhood years, I grew up going to Cedar Point in the 70s since I lived in Ohio at the time. Very fond memories! In particular, I remember the beautiful flowers, landscaping and the race horse ride. Those stand out in my mind.

wow! i was 10 years old. if i remember right that is the year for the corkscrew. just tall enough to ride it. that was a great time. with an old friend Dana L.

I loved the Frontier Land Skyride... With all of the trees it felt so much cooler.

Always liked the lifts...They both commanded great views...The Frontier one was longer, if I remember...

Your wrong. The Gemini racing coaster opened in 1978. The last year I went to Cedar Point. It was touted as the main new ride for "78.
