Nostalgia, Americana, Midwest, Summer. That’s what comes to mind When I think of Cedar Point.
@BrutallyDigital Жыл бұрын
Just rewatched this documentary, and so much has changed since it was being sold in the park. I miss some of the attractions and the arcades that were in the park and the hotel. I remember conquering my fear of those same rides as a kid, and now embrace them with adrenaline at times after I've indulged in the park's atmosphere with a few drinks. So much has changed. It all comes with time. I still hold on to the photos and items from my younger days with fondness while making new memories along the way.
@robhausman28395 жыл бұрын
It's that nostalgic feeling and the atmosphere not the rides that keeps us parents coming back to March for miles in the heat all day. Now days I'm in my forties soo we just stay longer and take our time and enjoy being together as a family. I remember going there with my friends during junior high.they all brought girl friends but I didn't have one,I would go on rides wishing I had someone special. 26 years later I made the trip from Jersey with my wife and daughter and they were shocked how awesome it was. That week was one of the highlights of my life

+Agent Pebble Actually, I think you bring up an interesting point, despite some of the comments here. Think about it. Think about the technologies and daily luxuries that we're used to. In my opinion, we're soft compared to the population of the late 19th century. Those people were rough, rugged, independent, and didn't rely on the technology that we have today. The only reason we think that they couldn't handle Top Thrill or Millennium or Maverick, etc, is because the technology didn't exist back then for such a ride. We don't comprehend an 1890 person riding a 170ft inverted coaster that inverts you 6 times. But I bet, if you plucked one of these people from the late 1800's and dropped them in Cedar Point, as it is now, and let them get over the initial fear and confusion of our modern culture, they would hold up just as good if not better than the rest of us on our generation of coasters.
@agentpebble10948 жыл бұрын
Strazman Absolutely, each generation is tough in their own ways, however back then they were all tough lmao. I was originally joking when I put this but I still think about it today

The only thing I walked past in Cedar Point during the early 70s to present, maybe I walked through once, is the museum. There was a museum right, down the the back of Frontier town? I hope my memory isn't failing me. What I wonder is, if I would have hung out in there, instead of trying to get on coasters, was were they playing this video? Maybe old aunts wanted to go in there and cool down and watch some TV. Anyway, maybe that's not where this came from, but pretty kool either way.

I love looking at the fashions of the past but I can't begin to imagine how hot those people are with no air conditioning and all those clothes. Funny today how formal those outfits would be considered and definitely not something you'd wear to an amusement park.

Hey cutie the reason everyone is so well dressed is because co used to be a place where wealthy men from Cleveland used to go for weekends or for vacation and local women would get cute,dress up and hang out near the beach and try to snag a rich hubby.
