Music reminds me of Alison Krauss and Union Station. Great looking timber frame!

WOW! That was certainly a long road and a bunch of work. I am amazed at what you have done. Can't wait to see the interior finished up. You wouldn't be the same Mudburn on the Homesteadingtoday forum would you? Extreme composting? Cheers!!! Chris E.

Мне очень понравился каркас. Не понравилось как подняли цоколь. Видно как потом передумали немного и террасу вокруг дома сделали по другому. Очень простая и рациональная стройка. получил массу удовольствия от просмотра, многое намотал на ус. Спасибо!

Chris, I missed your comment when you posted it. We can't wait to see it finished up, too. And, yes, I'm the same mudburn on HT.

Truly an awesome home. I'm contemplating a timber frame straw bale as well - are there any references you'd recommend for learning the skills? How long did the project take, and were those 5 or 6 people shown in the video working on it the whole time? Thanks!

chandone90 There are several books available about timber framing and about straw bale construction. Read as many of them as you can, seeking to understand the techniques. If you are willing to try and to learn, you can do it. The project is not yet finished, but we are close (I'll add a video of the completed project when we get there in 2 or 3 months). I spent 2.5 years on the timber frame, working by myself as I had time (not full time). We got the frame ready and the exterior bales walls up in one summer (2010). I had help from a friend for several weeks during that summer, and we had to plastering parties to help get the outside plastered. My dad and a friend helped with the siding. The only regular labor/help I've had has been my children. We've put 12 tons of plaster on the interior walls during the last three years, almost all of the labor for that was mine and my two boys. Mostly, the labor has been my own.
