I just finished this build this weekend. Great design and measurements. The backrest will fit perfectly snug between the assembled seat/leg assembly but needs a little persuasion. I added a cup holder to mine. I also had to add shims between the backrest and armrests because when I tightened the reinforcing screws the legs racked a bit. You could pre-paint the pieces before assembly for easier painting but keep in mind you will need to touch up. The only modification I would make would be to widen the seat/backrest maybe an inch more, mainly because my girlfriend has a big arse. Also note if your plan is to make these the centerpiece of your deck/patio, keep in mind it's construction grade lumber you are looking at here; imperfections are evident and the norm when spending about $23 in materials. Thanks so much for posting the video and get that double one going!

It never even crossed my mind to make a double version. I made a couple sets of these (using pocket screws) last summer for my house and I gave away a set to a friend. They turned out to be more comfortable than the store bought chairs we had purchased when we moved into this house. I originally sized them up a little to fit some cushions that I loved but I found I like the chairs without the cushions so much better. Keep up the great videos.

For my time in building them and providing them.

Big profit, only if you can sell them. Facebook Marketplace is saturated with chairs like these. The way these guys make money isn't selling chairs they built. It's by making videos of chairs they built and putting them on youtube.

Dang! Imagine if those youtubers did the research and figured out these chairs only close about $30 to make and had sold patio sets for $200.... they could be making all kinds of money. Now that's big profits!

@@cedarriverwoodworking Keep dreaming, people are not that stupid to pay that much for shit furniture made of construction grade lumber. Admit it, the real money is in making the videos convincing rubes that they can get rich making crap chairs.

I want to watch your videos but the way you are talking is driving me nuts. Stop the jerking in the talk and be more fluid. I watch another guy with videos and he does the same thing. Kevin Baxter is his name. Check him out and you will see how your sentences are going. I will try to watch more, but it is really annoying.

@@cedarriverwoodworking Please forgive me for my comment. I really did not want to sound so judgmental. Hell, I sure am not perfect and have no right putting my ugly comment on your post. I did watch it all and one more too. Again, sorry.

@@jerryhubbard4461 Feedback is always helpful. I've been working on editing so that things feel a lot smoother, the more I'm in front of the camera, the better things will get.

Flat seat and flat back make for a VERY uncomfortable seating. Try putting a slight curve to the back and seat. Will be 1000 % better.

Designed so a 20x20 cushion fits them, and they are perfectly comfortable without them.
