Jonny Boy I’m nobody to you, but I believe in the kindness of strangers - so let this stranger tell you I can see you’re deflated and not your usual charismatic self. Your videos have been a complete inspiration to me. I have an engineering background but ZERO landscaping experience, and as a result of your videos I’ve had the confidence to embark upon the mother of all garden transformations at our home in Scotland. I’ve never laid a brick in my life and now have laid 1200 bricks (staffordshire blue of course) topped with concrete blocks and rendered, all on poured concrete footings meeting the relevant standards. I’m in the process of laying the porcelain paving (lean mix base on type 1 sub base of course) and I’ll also be attempting a cedar batten fence in due course. Your KZbin channel is the blueprint for how a trades business should be marketing itself. You come across as completely genuine and if a customer wants YOU because they like YOU then that’s very hard for a competitor to beat. Times have been incredibly tough lately but keep your chin up as you’ve got a great thing going. It’s easy for me to say don’t listen to the trolls etc but I’m not the one taking the risk and putting my work and my personality out there for everyone to see in minute detail. I think you’re brave for that, and I’m slightly envious! Keep the videos coming, I hope you manage to sort out a videographer or find a way of enjoying producing them again (have you looked into the Kickstart scheme where the gov pays you to recruit an apprecntice? Nothing says they need to be a landscaper - they could be a marketing person!) And - stay safe. All the best.

How to videos are good JB, to reduce the amount of them, you could just put a link to a more detailed "how to" at the end of a time lapsed video. That would reduce your time going over the same subject several times advantageously allowing you more time to work. Keep up the good work JB👍

Didn’t stagger the joints? Gap is waaay too small. The vertical strips covering the join looks terrible. That could have been a seamless beautiful fence. Waste.

Great vids and quality of work John. I certainly know what you mean about people letting you down, it's a real wind up. Whatever happened to common curtesy and communication, hey and no stressing on the vids, they role out when they do.....And don't forget to decompress and do something that isn't work related. I think it's so important. I've just started taking guitar lessons and picking up a good novel again. Escapism is great, and sometimes we forget.

The cedar cladding works well, personally I would have ended the cladding were it meets the black boards in a whole pannel and put the small section of cuts in the corner.
