I got turn 0 etali yesterday in a tourney. I was 4th seat as rog si. Etali in seat 2 .. dropped the ogre into Dino .. flips heat shimmer from himself , demonic tutor from me .. next copy he hits food chain. Gg boys

@skourer8107 I'm not sure Tivit has received a lot of new tech in the past calendar year but imo still easily in the top 4 commanders in the meta, I think unless collector ouphe becomes worth running in high numbers again it'll be hard to knock tivit too far off the throne

Unfortunately it can't! If you copy with wandering archaic you're copying the spell as it exists on the stack and the chosen mode on it is counter target blue spell, so if Brian copies it, it also has to be on that mode, he can't choose the other

Definitely some unintentional kingmaking when your One Ring was countered. It was no secret what was going to happen just down the road. I get that TOR has a reputation, but it was CLEARLY the wrong fuse to put out.

how are they keeping hands with core augur on the field?

Core augur says hand size is reduced by 7 so that only causes a player to discard when it gets to their cleanup step and the game asks "do you have more than the max amount of cards in your hand" I Deluge on the next turn during my main phase so augur never has the opportunity to make anyone discard Same reason you can draw more than 7 through a turn cycle on opps turns with rhystic study etc and don't have to discard until the end of your own

It just says “If you cast it” so cascading into it or casting from the graveyard or anything like that is still casting. But if you have an effect that puts it into the battlefield or copies it you don’t get the protection
