Love this concept! A few thoughts about the list: * [[Urza's Saga]] seems like it would be great in here. Very low opportunity cost to include. With the number of artifacts you are making, Karn-structs seem quite good also. (Maybe cut Barbarian Ring?) * Did you consider running double strike instants and sorceries as rituals? ([[Assault Strobe]] is 1 mana for +3 treasures.) * [[Wings of Velis Veil]] seems like it would sometimes do good work as a removal spell via combat - as well as a type changer. * [[Pyre of Heros]] gives you some interesting pod lines - Dockside -> Buccaneer, 2-drop human -> Recruiter searches for for Buccaneer. * [[Unnatural Selection]] is another permanent type changer for repeatability Lots more thoughts - this deck needs a discord server!

This is very very similar to a deck I recently built to gift to a friend. It’s $120 on moxfield and I built it for $100 on tcgplayer I call it “budget booty” and I think it is amongst the very strongest budget builds possible. Kinnan may be close but this “Budget Booty” deck is impossibly consistent and has amazing early mid and late games. I layered in pyre of heroes stuff and Magda w clock to go infinite and it just always has outs. It gets around the biggest problems w a budget deck by making its own fast mana and I highly recommend this pairing for anyone trying to get into cedh on a budget. At $500 I honest believe the deck could hang w some of the best budgetless decks in the format. This partner pair is busted

I love this. I have an optimized Malcolm - Kraum deck that does very simmilar things and was actually meaning to change it into malcom - kedis. I don't own all of the fast mana and dont play to the highest of cEDH levels but even so it's the deck that can actually win in said games and does so by also having alternate combos or pure ping-grind.
@kevinconstantineau53212 жыл бұрын
Would you mind linking me to a decklist? I'm playing a $100 version of Malcolm Kediss and was running into problems if Malcolm was removed before he connects for the first time. Another issue is not drawing into card advantage engines, although thats probably more my fault with my mulligans. For these reasons, I wanted to try Kraum instead of Kediss as a backup grind engine. Also, I'm assuming by now you have built and tried Kediss, how does it compare to Kraum?
@diegopicchetto52502 жыл бұрын
@@kevinconstantineau5321 I haven't uploaded or documented the decklist on any platform yet... It has seen several changes here and there, I came back to Kraum. It is much more explosive with Kediss but I prefer the flexibility with Kraum. One card I loved including recently is the Guild Artisan background in the 99. since both commanders have evasion, it allows for simmilar explosive turns, but also can help me grind and keep mana available sionce most of the deck is cmc 2, I can always cast any interaction I need. I tried running a few (3-4) "X" draw spells, it works well to compensate for when I haven't found a Rhystic or Remora, but it came with the hefty price of investing many of the treasures. I think the problem with malcolm is once peopke realize the value it can generate with kedis and the combo eith glinthorn bucaneer it will always be a target for removal, perhaps up the protection spells a little (either blinks, hexproof, counters or equippment) since you should be good enough with hitting just twice - netting 6 mana to re-cast without too much problem. If you want we could setup to check your list and talk ideas and options :D I'd be glad to help a fellow izzet player on a budget.
