If the congressman from LA saying that there is a national crisis plauging Black Americans and that the white men on the other side don't know what it's like to be a Black man and that those same white men act on their internal biases isn't considered the "race card"....then what is? My ex-husband used to have a phrase he trotted out every time he got caught out and called out over his behaviour. He would say "It's all water under a bridge now". And to this day he still does not understand that if you want the past to be water under a bridge, you have to help to build the bridge first. Until the behaviour is held to account and the damage dealt with, there is no going forward and everyone involved is locked into a place from which healing cannot happen because the cause of the problem has not been resolved.
