I love this song and the beautiful Morissette Amon singing it with so much emotion and crying at the end. The lyrics are from Freddie Santos, who sadly passed away in December 2020. The original arrangement was by Gary Valenciano, who rearranged the song for Mori to sing in tribute to his best friend Freddie. The videotographie was perfection. We have to thank everyone involved in the making of this beautiful video. This video was released during the height of the Covid pandemic, when many people (including myself) were feeling scared and uncertain, and maybe even starting to despair. This performance lifted my spirits and gave me hope during that dark time. She is an amazing singer, actress, and storyteller. She should be on Broadway or the West End. Thanks for appreciating her! thank you for your reaction! for context, this song is part of a Filipino Christian musical entitled First Name, which was originally staged circa 1989. the late Freddie Santos wrote the book and lyircs and collaborated with different composers for the music. this video is part of a tribute for Freddie who sadly didn't get to see it. First Name Anew is a reimagining of the songs of the musical, and presenting it to a new audience in stand-alone video format. thank you for your insightful analysis of the song and the video. love it! Hi, I am going to try one more time and ask you to please watch Hi Ren… your theatre background would be amazing in reacting and analysing this song.. and most of Ren’s other work.. Hi Ren is an experience you should have at least once, it is more art than music video. And Ren is a multi-instrumental artist that crosses genres, and does all his music from the heart. Another favorite Morissette song for me is "Love You Still" (sunset version) Morissette is so expressive when she sings! Might I recommend another singer, Stell Ajero of the PPop group SB19. A few incredible performances are "All By Myself" at the David Foster Concert. "Sometime, Somewhere" with Ryan Cayabyab, a well known Filipino composer which led to Ryan giving a song called "Di Ko Masabi" to Stell. The Di Ko Masabi MV is incredible! Lastly Stell's MV of "Anino," a song written by Pablo, the leader of SB19. I also noticed another recommendation for the Disney Night of Wonder with Zephanie, Janella and Stell. It will introduce you to even more Filipino talent!
