Testo hunna ni. Dipole moment ( M) of a current carrying coil must be parallel to the external magnetic field (B) for torque to be zero and Potential energy to be minimum. And also dipole moment is perpendicular to the plane of the coil. Thus as the magnetic field is from N → S direction, dipole moment must be parallel to it from N → S direction and in this condition plane of coil will be in East West direction.
