Agent Harris is such a wonderfully written character. The ending scene where Harris and Tony talk about the Mets outside of Satriele's (perfectly sound tracked by The Johnny Thunders' 'You Can't Put An Arm Around A Memory") projects the rest of Harris' trajectory throughout the series. Where the show truly becomes dynamic, is when the microcosm battle between the FBI and the Sopranos zooms out to the macrocosm battle between America and the Arab nations post 9/11. There are tons of little quips and details that highlight this, but I think the true feeling that's being expressed is sort of similar to what Sun Tsu says in The Art of War, "The enemey of my enemy is my friend." A fuller picture highlights that the Arabs are maybe even fighting the same type of xenophobia that the Italians fought (and continue to fight) in America. Except, the Italians define the Arabs as "other," via accusing their forms of illegal business as terrorist-funding, and that subsequently defines the Italian Americans as the same as the rest of gentile America. This is why I love Agent Harris' character! He is extremely thought-provoking, while providing levity, kinship, and a heavy dose of tragicomedy. Meanwhile, he wields a power strong enough to make Tony kill his nephew's fiancé. It's harrowing and so fucking fantastic.
