I do laugh at comments like "... when I shoot bill-boards ..." I use cameras with high resolution. What codswallop! You DO NOT NEED high resolution for bill boards! NO ONE will see the difference at the distance a bill board is viewed. A bill board uses very low 'dots per inch' resolution. Go take a close look at a bill board next time you get the chance It really is only very few 'dots/inch' in reality. However, if you are printing to something that is viewed close up, then you need higher resolution. Ultimately PPI is not as important as made out by those who have something to sell... follow the money and you will always find out why someone says something... sad but true!
