That is so simple it's brilliant. You saved me a lot of time and money trying to troubleshoot the electrical components. Thanks!

Pure straight genius. The description was perfect. I always switch the direction summer/winter, but today the summer direction (counter-clockwise) didn't work. Buying a new fan or tearing this one apart were not appealing options, bending metal with my bare hands was a lot of fun and totally worked. Good work sir.

This…was exactly the fix we needed! It’s a little embarrassing how many summers we put off fixing it because we didn’t want to pay an electrician. Thank you!

Tried this after taking it apart and failing to find the problem. My fan is about 25 years old, and I don't really care about the winter setting, so it took about 5 minutes to bend the blades, and then I leveled them by sight: no wobble. Now it's permanently on summer setting, which is fine. Good idea.

Great advice! My fan was having the same issue. I used some compressed air to blow off dust from the connections and then used the contact cleaner. Problem solved!

Dude that is brilliant! I have the exact same fan and was thinking how I could reverse the blades without having to take the thing apart and sure enough they are so cheap I bent all of the blades in less than a minute! Thanks!

I hope the video is just flipped. If it only spins in 1 direction, I would try to replace the reverse switch first.

the stress from bending will finely break them. Possible severe injuries can occur.

that's not a good idea. those blades are precision balanced. if you don't have them all exactly the same it creates a wobble that can cause things to take apart. and yes, stress on the blades from bending can cause it to break. and of its on at the time someone can get hurt badly

I hope this is not really true. I would just try replacing the reverse switch first.

That is not a good solution. The best solution is, find the reverse switch. For your model, it is located on top of the fan. It is between the ceiling and the motor. You cannot see it. But, it is there.
