CEILING FAN RECEIVER

Ceiling fan would not work...no pull strings just a remote so all signs pointed to a bad receiver inside the housing. Here is how to replace it.
This is a Hampton Bay fan with no pull strings to control fan only a remote
With any electrical do it yourself project please disconnect power at the circuit box and make sure wall switch is in off position

I'm still not seeing the receiver, or at least not the actual dipswitches in that bundle of wires. What's next?

Slip the receiver into the mounting bracket. Theres space for it
