First the bmf title is a gimmick and was originally supposed to be a one time thing to sell a few extra ppvs. Second, Cejudo lost to aljo and I don’t even feel confident he could even beat O’Malley at this point.

Now the ufc has 2 types of fighters, title contenders and popular fighters that can sell tickets but aren’t good enough to compete for the title. Colby is now in the latter category if he continues. Others in this category are Conor, Masvidol, Diaz, Tony, Stipe, Jones, Cejudo, and everyone in lightweight not named Islam.
