Graduating from the Pre-College this coming June. To say I'd recommend it would be a MASSIVE understatement. The friendships I've forged here are some of my closest, and the faculty is simply amazing, from my private studio teacher to my music theory teacher and improvisation instructor -- they genuinely care about you. I sometimes forget that these are world-class musicians and pedagogues I have the honour of studying with. Also, the video is right in saying that the community here is full of people with diverse interests other than just classical music, and I could easily strike up a conversation about K-pop or biology with my friends. Thank you so much, Juilliard, for giving me this wonderful opportunity.

I am a 48-year-old non-musician -- no talent -- but I recently restarted my violin and piano lessons (pre-pandemic) and I realized many people just want to learn how to play recreationally as a personal goal. I wish there were opportunities to learn from more teachers at this level who realize they are merely trying to teach a future fan on how to understand complex pieces more intently by improving techniques at home.
