Aaron, I think that you may be on to something with the three note beginning of hymns idea! A Mighty Fortress, How Great Thou Art, Beethoven’s fifth symphony (not a hymn, buy I’m just sayin’), the hymns you mentioned~ I’m certain that we can identify more!!
