Hahaha, that's really hilarious when you told momo that the red part of queso de bola is wax. I remembered when I was a kid and first time that my mom served it queso de bola on our noche buena, I was really curious about it so I tasted it and also eat the the red outer layer, and told my mom it doesn't have taste. My mom said you don't eat it, it's wax. I just uttered to my mom, "what???!!! I just ate a candle?" hahaha, that moment. I learned that the outer layer covering is somewhat to preserved the queso de bola protecting it to moisture and prevention of mold growth.

Different island, different province, different households, different person, different culture in the Philippines. Not all Filipinos use hands in eating and we don't usually eat with our hands especially with foreigners or if others are using spoons. We also use serving spoon. We dont touch others food too. Using someone's chopsticks or spoon from others mouth is shocking also to us. Moy's manners in eating too and in general is different from most Filipinos as well.
