Today we're releasing this new film to mark a milestone moment for Horatio's Garden and the National Garden Scheme, as the National Garden Scheme has now generously donated more than half a million pounds to Horatio's Garden.
Since 2012, when Horatio's Garden first began nurturing the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries within the heart of NHS spinal injury centres, the charity has had a special relationship with the National Garden Scheme.
From the beginning, we've been opening our garden gates in support of the National Garden Scheme. Then, in 2015, Horatio's Garden became a Gardens and Health beneficiary, with the National Garden Scheme generously donating towards the capital costs for five of our gardens; Horatio's Garden Stoke Mandeville, Midlands, London & South East, Wales and most recently, Northern Ireland, which is opening soon.
In 2019, the National Garden Scheme committed funding towards the completion of all 11 Horatio's Gardens throughout the UK and we continue to open every Horatio's Garden annually to raise vital funds and awareness for the National Garden Scheme.
We are phenomenally grateful to everyone involved with the National Garden Scheme for all your incredible support. Whether you're a garden owner, volunteer, visitor, trustee, or member of the brilliant staff team, Horatio's Garden would like to thank you for helping us to change the lives of people facing really difficult times after spinal injury.
