Joy was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana to her late parents, Jacqueline Smith Parker and Rudolph Thomas, Sr. She has three siblings; twin sister JoAnn, youngest sister Debra, and brother Rudolph Jr. She is the mother of three, Terence, Tia, and Kevia, and grandmother of two, Jeremiah and Michai. New Orleans is her forever home where her family still resides.
She is a lover and devoted follower of God. She enjoys writing and sharing inspirational messages and the good news of Jesus on social media to motivate and inspire others. She is the author of two self-published books, Where Inspiration Meets Hope and Faith: 37 Inspirational Devotions to Inspire the Heart and Unspoken Testimony, Memoir: Secrets of a Southern Girl.
