Celebrating Mattaponi Native American heritage at the Centreville Regional Public Library

What an honor and privilege it was to host representatives from the Eastern Woodlands Revitalization nonprofit organization who shared with us their ancestral knowledge and the culture of the Mattaponi tribe at our public library in Centreville, Virginia. Raven Brightwater Custalow, Christopher Lee Custalow, and Nokomis Whitefeather Custalow shared with us some of the Mattaponi history, dances, and craftwork.
The families that attended had an amazing time. We look forward to inviting them back to our library!
