I have always been partial to instrumental music, with acoustic, jazz/modern jazz, jazz-rock fusion, and experimental all getting my love. Another category of music that greatly appeals to me for similar reasons, is "jam band" music. Like the Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese and others. I am very attracted to the long form instrumental jams, that these groups would create, in the middle of a song. The one thing they all have in common, is taking me to musical places, I did not know existed. I was introduced to Jazz, and the fusion era of the 70s-80s by a great guitar player and dear friend Kevin Ham. He had an enormous record collection, and would play wonderful music for me, whenever I would visit. He is also the band leader of a band I played bass in, for about 20 years. Those were exciting times for me, being introduced to new music, enjoying live performances with friends and fellow musicians. I appreciate your discussions about music topics. It helps me understand the music I love better. I sure would like to see you play your version of modern jazz, at a local venue, or house concert 🎸🎶🔥

You mentioned in your 10 reasons people hate jazz video that you think a lot of modern jazz musicians put too much emphasis on technique and theoretical concepts, is that what your statement was referring to?

​@TimAspin-e9s Exactly. I certainly don't think that's true for any of the musicians I mention in this video.
