Celebrating My Baby's "Birthday"

In this video we celebrate Baby Ian's 100th day milestone! We share our cavoodle dog Olive getting groomed and dressed up for Baby Ian's special celebration. Olive wears a white/cream and lavender ribboned dress, colors matching Baby Ian's hanbok. We celebrated at home with lot of food and family time. For the special occasion we created a mini photo studio in the living room, taking lots of pictures with a DIY 100 day head table to capture the special moments and kept it intimate.
• Why is 100 Days of a Baby’s life celebrated?
In Korea when the infant mortality rate was rather high, babies were kept indoors, no visitors were allowed to be in contact to prevent exposure to bacteria, etc. If a baby made it past the 100 days it was said they'd live to be a year. And if the baby lived a year, s/he would live past infancy. So the 100 day marked a significant and critical milestone, a cause for celebration. Fortunately, with modern medicine and science many babies live past 100 days now but this milestone is still widely celebrated today. 🤗
• What is hanbok?
'Hanbok' is the traditional Korean attire now only worn on special formal occasions or anniversaries. Prior to the introduction of Western styled clothing, this used to be the style/clothing/garment worn everyday in Korea.

We are thinking about adding a new dog to our family, and would like a small affectionate pup like your Olive. I am also happy to tell you that we are a Korean-American family. We are blessed with the adoption of 2 children from Korea, who will be turning 24 and 26 years old next month. It seems like yesterday we were celebrating their arrival and a (late) 100 days of life when they came home at 5 and 6 months old. Your celebration was heartwarming, and brought back so many memories when our children were small. We visited Seoul in the summer of 2019 when our son was doing a college internship there. What a beautiful country, and such lovely people. We look forward to going back.
